A combined security team in Aladja, Delta State, has arrested a 23-year-old suspected motorcycle thief, Joshua Akpotu, accused of stealing a Qlink motorcycle belonging to Efe Mukoro.

The suspect, a native of Ovwian Community, was flagged down by members of the Aladja Crack Team in the early hours of January 9, 2025, but fled the scene. Security operatives, comprising Vigilantes, Hunters, CJTF, and Youth Excos, gave chase and apprehended him.

During questioning, Akpotu confessed to working with accomplices to steal motorcycles in Aladja and neighboring communities. He also led security personnel to a location where one of his accomplices reportedly resides.

The suspect has been handed over to the police at the Ovwian/Aladja Division for further investigation. This arrest highlights the renewed commitment of the Aladja security team to combat crime.

Recently, the team apprehended four armed robbery suspects and handed them over to the police. However, two of the suspects managed to escape custody, raising concerns about security measures at the police station.

Residents have praised the efforts of the Aladja security team and called for stricter measures to ensure criminals remain behind bars.
