Popular Nigerian skit maker and activist, Mr Macaroni, has disclosed his reasons for snubbing Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stating that he cannot associate with a government he holds responsible for his past ordeal.
Responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from a user, @OyesileJohn, who criticized him for ignoring the governor, Mr Macaroni reiterated his stance, saying, “I will continue to snub your Governor. He doesn’t mean anything to me, neither do you or your father. For every time you bring this up, I will remind you of my reasons.”
The entertainer recounted his harrowing experience, alleging that he was stripped, beaten, and dehumanized under the orders of the Lagos State government during his detention. According to him, police officers at the time warned him to “stop disturbing the governor.”
The post has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many supporters applauding Mr Macaroni for staying true to his principles, while others criticized his public stance.
The activist maintains his refusal to engage with the governor, stating it is a matter of personal integrity and justice.
