The gruesome murder of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Salome Eleojo Adaidu has taken an even darker turn as her uncle, Mr. Samson Adaji Adaidu, alleged that the suspect, Timileyin Ajayi, was preparing her body for consumption. Ajayi, a 32-year-old gospel singer and content creator, was arrested on Sunday by the Nigeria Police after being caught with the severed head of the Abuja-based corps member.

Speaking to Channels TV on Tuesday, Mr. Adaidu claimed evidence found in Ajayi’s room suggests the suspect may have been involved in similar crimes before. He described the horrifying discovery of Salome’s dismembered body, which was found in about six polythene bags, likening the scene to the way a butcher portions meat.

“The suspect cut her body into over 50 pieces and left them in bags, as though he was preparing it for consumption,” Mr. Adaidu stated, adding that knives and other tools were found in Ajayi’s room, pointing to a pattern of similar gruesome acts.

The tragedy has left Salome’s family devastated, with Mr. Adaidu calling for swift justice. “We are expecting justice from the police. He has succeeded in destroying our daughter. Not just killing her, he butchered her into pieces,” he said.

Ajayi was arrested in Nasarawa State and led the police to his residence, where the dismembered remains were recovered. The case has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspect.

The shocking crime has raised questions about the safety of corps members and the growing prevalence of violent crimes in the country. Authorities have assured the public that justice will be served.
