Tragedy struck in Anambra State as suspected kidnappers brutally murdered a banker, identified as Ifeoma, after collecting ransom from her family. The horrifying incident occurred after the victim was abducted in Onitsha by the criminal gang.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishi broke the news on Tuesday via his Facebook page, revealing that Ifeoma’s body was found dumped near Ideani junction along Nnobi/Alor road. “Lives are being taken daily, and it’s sad nothing is being done to end these killings. WHO IS NEXT?” he lamented, urging swift action to address the worsening insecurity in the region.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that the victim’s corpse has been recovered and investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death.
The chilling case has sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for decisive measures to combat kidnapping and insecurity in Anambra and other parts of Nigeria.
