Renowned Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has dismissed reports suggesting she fled the United States due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. In a statement posted on her Instagram page on January 14, 2025, the actress clarified that her recent stay in Nigeria was unrelated to the devastating fires.

Omotola, who initially announced her presence in Abuja on January 9, 2025, sparked speculation after posting on Instagram about evacuating quickly and urging fans to check on loved ones in LA. However, she has since stated that her comments were misinterpreted.

“I want to take a moment to address the incredible outpouring of concern and support I have received regarding the fires in Los Angeles,” Omotola wrote. “To set the record straight: My family and I are safe. However, I have seen reports suggesting that I had to leave the U.S. because of the fire. This is inaccurate.”
