Alax Evalsam, the Nigerian fish pie seller who rose to fame in August 2024 with his catchy “Fish Pieeee” tune, has shared his struggles following viral success. Despite amassing millions of views on social media, Alax revealed that fame brought more challenges than rewards.

The viral TikTok video, featuring Alax’s melodious sales pitch while hawking pastries, made him an internet sensation overnight. However, the pastry seller disclosed that rumors of receiving large financial support from celebrities were false. “The rumors that they gave me N10 million, N5 million, and more are untrue. Many people took advantage of me instead,” he stated.

Alax explained that his business has not benefited from the fame. His shop remains empty, and he struggles to restock due to financial constraints. “If I had received all that money, I would have used it to stock my shop. But if you visit now, it’s empty,” he said.

Another significant setback Alax faced was losing control of his social media presence. He clarified that several accounts using his name are not his, adding, “I don’t have a Facebook page, and my first account was taken from me and is being used by someone else.”

While Alax has started exploring ways to monetize his fame, he admitted that he is still learning. “I haven’t made a dime from social media. The only time I earn is when I’m called to feature in skits,” he shared.

Despite these challenges, Alax remains optimistic. “I am surviving on the grace of God,” he said, vowing to continue speaking the truth about his journey and the reality behind viral fame.
