A major crackdown in Rivers State has led to the arrest of 90 foreigners suspected of cybercrimes, according to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The swoop, conducted with help from other security agencies, uncovered a ring that allegedly swindled innocent Nigerians through various online schemes.

Rivers State Comptroller of Immigration, YI Abdulmajeed, revealed that 94 suspects were initially taken into custody. Profiling exposed 85 Cameroonians, five Chadians, and four Nigerians among them—comprising 74 males and 20 females. None of the 90 foreign nationals possessed valid travel documents or residence cards, having entered Nigeria through unauthorized routes.
