A wave of concern has swept through Babawa village in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State after a 45-year-old unknown man was discovered dead inside a local well on Tuesday afternoon. The Kano State Fire Service received an emergency call at 12:59 p.m. from ASP Kabiru Lawan of the Gezawa Police Division, prompting a rescue team to rush to the scene.

Arriving by 1:25 p.m., firefighters found the man lying unconscious in the well, where he is believed to have perished due to prolonged exposure. Community leaders and residents say they do not recognize the deceased or know where he came from.

ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed that the body was retrieved and handed over to ASP Kabiru Lawan for further investigation. The mystery surrounding the man’s identity has left villagers on edge, as authorities work to uncover the circumstances leading to his death.
