A groundbreaking visa approval center has been unveiled by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who confirmed that all visa applications will become fully digital by March 1. The centralized system is designed to curb corruption, boost national security, and streamline the process for foreign investors and visitors.

“We’re establishing a single visa approval center,” Tunji-Ojo explained during an X Spaces conversation with Dr. Segun Awosanya, adding that this reform ensures uniformity and accountability in how visas are granted. He also highlighted the newly implemented data center, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex (BATTIC), which hosts an 8.3-petabyte capacity—one of the largest in the world—ending previous concerns about contractors privately storing Nigeria’s data.
