Media personality Toke Makinwa has fiercely criticized Nigerian music icon 2face Idibia for his handling of the ongoing controversy surrounding his marriage to Annie Idibia. Toke expressed her displeasure after 2face admitted to personally posting the now-deleted divorce announcement that sparked outrage on social media.
In a direct comment under 2face’s video, Toke wrote: “This is wrong on all levels, and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here. If you think she’s alone, let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”
Taking her stance further, Toke addressed the issue on her Instagram story, calling out those remaining neutral. She warned, “What is wrong is wrong, and as a woman, if you sit on the fence on this one, if it misses you, it’ll touch your daughter or any female in your family. No one is innocent, and if you want to bring the media into it, knowing what is happening, we would fight for her.”
The drama unfolded after 2face initially claimed his account had been hacked, only to later admit responsibility for the divorce post, further fueling the controversy.
Toke Makinwa, no stranger to marriage-related challenges following her own divorce in 2015 due to her ex-husband Maje Ayida’s infidelity, has become an outspoken advocate for women in similar situations. Her firm support for Annie has resonated with many, as she continues to rally women to stand against injustice in marriages.
