At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025, held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, Beyoncé’s country-inspired album Cowboy Carter earned her the prestigious Album of the Year award. This victory marks her first in this category, despite previous nominations for I Am… Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé, Lemonade, and Renaissance.
With this win, Beyoncé becomes the first Black woman to secure the Album of the Year honor since Lauryn Hill’s triumph in 1999.
Additionally, Cowboy Carter was awarded Best Country Album, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to win in this category in over five decades.
