The Odimma Orsu Initiative has called for sustained military action in Orsu, Imo State, and its neighboring areas, insisting that security forces must dismantle criminal hideouts and demystify the Udeke Valley, which has become a notorious stronghold for violent groups.
Speaking at a World Press Conference in Lagos, the group exposed widespread killings, kidnappings, and destruction allegedly carried out by IPOB and ESN operatives in communities such as Awo-Idemili, Amankwo, Amanaogu, Ihitenansa, Umuhu, Orsu Ihiteukwa, and Eziawa.
Call for Aggressive Action
Chief Chukwudi Okparaku, Chairman of the Odimma Orsu Initiative, highlighted some of the worst atrocities, including:
The murder of security personnel and arson attacks on homes of prominent indigenes
The gruesome castration and killing of Felix Obodoechi (a.k.a. Matador) in Orsu Ihiteukwa
Looting and large-scale destruction that has left thousands displaced
The group is demanding the government deploy more military forces and launch a comprehensive air and land assault on the area, particularly targeting the Udeke Valley, which they claim houses heavily armed criminal elements.
Onyeoma Ezeifedi, a member of the security committee, urged security agencies to level Udeke Valley, stating: “Burn it, take it to ground zero, so people will see there is nothing there but fear.”
Devastating Impact on Orsu Residents
Heartbreaking testimonies from Orsu residents painted a grim picture of a community under siege, including:
A 98-year-old man beheaded, with his head still missing at burial
A pregnant woman abducted, mutilated, and buried alive for ritual purposes, leading to her husband’s death from heartbreak
More than 5,000 lives lost, with homes turned to rubble and families displaced
Final Appeal for Government Intervention
The Odimma Orsu Initiative has urged the federal government to:
✅ Clear buried IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) in the region
✅ Deploy sustained military operations until Orsu is fully secured
✅ Provide long-term peace-building measures to restore normalcy
“We have lost too much—our families, our homes, and our peace. We are no longer afraid to die, but we refuse to be victims of lawlessness,” said Boniface Okwuasoama, one of the group’s representatives.
Once a peaceful region, Orsu is now at the brink of collapse, and without urgent action, the entire community could descend into irreversible anarchy.
