As part of its 15th-anniversary celebrations, the African Cleanup Initiative (ACI) has announced a nationwide sustainability campaign, including planting 1,500 trees, donating 15,000 copies of the Green Book, and conducting massive cleanup exercises across Nigeria.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, ACI’s Founder, Dr. Alexander Akhigbe, highlighted the organization’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and revealed additional initiatives, such as the donation of 5,000 reusable pads to promote menstrual hygiene.
Green Week of Impact: Nationwide Activities
Themed “Green Week of Impact,” the anniversary celebrations will run from June 9 to 15, 2025, featuring:

Dr. Akhigbe urged partners, stakeholders, and volunteers to actively participate in the week-long celebration, noting that the impact of environmental awareness and sustainability practices requires collective action.
“This anniversary is a time to reflect on our journey, appreciate selfless contributions, and renew our commitment to people and the planet. Building an environmentally responsible society is possible through collaboration,” he stated.
