Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has openly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent proposal to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and have the United States assume control over the territory. Lula emphasized that while he respects Trump’s election by the American people to govern the United States, this mandate does not extend to ruling the world.

In a recent interview, Lula described Trump’s plan as “incomprehensible,” asserting that the responsibility for Gaza should rest with the Palestinians themselves. He further dismissed Trump’s expansionist ambitions and tariff threats against trading partners as “bravado.”
