Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is allegedly under a spiritual spell cast by a family member, his elder sister, Gbemisola, has claimed. She made this assertion while reacting to the singer’s ongoing legal troubles with the Ogun State government.
Portable, who is currently at large, was arraigned alongside nine associates before the Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. Speaking from hiding, the singer insisted he was being set up and pleaded for the release of his associates. He also expressed frustration over the case, warning that he might take drastic action against himself.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), Gbemisola apologized on behalf of her brother, alleging that a family member named Akeem is spiritually influencing Portable’s actions.
“Portable has never stolen before. I have never spoken publicly like this, but I feel compelled to now. He is the only one taking care of the family. If not for him, I would have died from sickness. But one of our family members, Akeem, is casting a spell on him. He is spiritually manipulating Portable to misbehave and offend Nigerians,” she said.
Portable’s erratic behavior and frequent run-ins with authorities have kept him in the headlines, sparking both concern and controversy.
