The Idibia family has raised an alarm over the sudden disappearance of Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, filing a formal petition with the Department of State Services (DSS) for an urgent investigation.
According to a statement released by the family lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the singer left home on February 10, 2025, dressed in lounge wear and without his bodyguard, and has not returned since. Initially, the family assumed he had gone for a short walk, but their fears escalated when friends and associates began receiving messages from 2Baba’s accounts soliciting financial assistance—a suspicious act considering his financial stability.
“These messages are alarming, as Mr. Innocent is financially independent and has never required assistance in such a manner. This has led his family to suspect that his identity may have been compromised and that someone may have abducted him and is actively manipulating him to exploit his contacts for monetary gain.”
The Idibia family suspects foul play and believes 2Baba may be under coercion. They emphasized that the situation has left his wife, children, and entire music empire in distress, urging security operatives to launch an immediate search-and-rescue operation
