Nollywood actress Chika Ike has put an end to swirling rumors linking Senator Ned Nwoko to her newborn child, firmly stating that the billionaire politician is not the father and that she has no interest in becoming anyone’s seventh wife.
Speculation erupted on social media after Ike shared maternity photos online, with many alleging that she was set to join Nwoko’s polygamous home. However, in a strongly-worded statement on Tuesday, the actress dismissed the claims as baseless and reiterated her stance against polygamy.
“Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever’s name you might come up with later in your guessing games—let me make it clear once and for all, I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife! Polygamy isn’t for me,” Ike stated via Instagram.
Her clarification follows an earlier statement from Senator Nwoko’s media office, in which he also denied any involvement with Chika Ike’s child or any plans of taking her as a wife. The lawmaker, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, described the rumors as false and misleading, emphasizing that his focus remains on his political responsibilities.
Despite the senator’s earlier rebuttal, social media users had continued to speculate, with some even drawing in Regina Daniels, Nwoko’s wife, who recently deactivated her Instagram account. However, Ike’s statement now shuts down the conversation, reaffirming that there is no connection between her child and the billionaire senator.
