Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arraigned before the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following his alleged assault on government officials.
The controversial artist surrendered to the Lagos State Police Command on February 19, 2025, a day after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly attacking three officials from the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA). The officials had attempted to seal his bar over a lack of proper permits and insufficient air space, leading to a violent altercation.
Police authorities confirmed that Portable had been evading arrest before turning himself in. After his surrender in Lagos, he was immediately transferred to Ogun State, where he faced arraignment on February 20, 2025.
Nine of Portable’s associates were previously arrested and charged with armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. The police are now pursuing legal actions against the singer, adding to his growing history of controversial run-ins with law enforcement.
The case has sparked reactions across social media, with many questioning the singer’s continued defiance of authorities. Portable, known for his erratic behavior and frequent legal troubles, remains a figure of controversy in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
