A deadly attack has rocked Osuke Village in Ota, Ogun State, leaving a 24-year-old man, Saheed Junaidu, dead after gunmen stormed a Muslim prayer ground and opened fire. The assailants, reportedly led by a suspect identified as Elijah, arrived on a motorcycle at around 8:00 AM last Thursday, unleashing gunfire on worshippers.

Confirming the tragic incident, Ogun State Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated that the attack was reported by the victim’s father, Olusoji Jinadu, who rushed his son to the State General Hospital in Ota, where he was pronounced dead. Three expended cartridges and two AK-47 rounds were recovered at the scene as police launched an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the victim’s family while assuring the public that no stone would be left unturned in bringing the killers to justice. He urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement by providing any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
