A fire outbreak at Geometric Power’s premises in Aba, Abia State, sent shockwaves through the industrial city early Monday morning. The blaze, which erupted in a temporary building on the premises of Nigeria’s foremost integrated power company, was swiftly contained by staff before the Abia State Fire Service arrived.

In an official statement, Geometric Power confirmed the incident, stating that the affected structure had been previously used by a defunct South African electricity firm, Group 5, during the construction of power facilities but had been largely inactive for over 12 years.
