Afrobeats singer Spyro has addressed swirling rumors suggesting he is the father of reality TV star Nengi Hampson’s newborn, following her recent childbirth announcement.

Nengi, a former Big Brother Naija star, revealed that she welcomed her first child in February, sparking widespread speculation about the identity of the child’s father. Spyro, who has openly expressed admiration for Nengi in the past, fueled rumors after posting a congratulatory message alongside her baby announcement video.

However, the congratulatory post quickly escalated into viral gossip, with many fans speculating that the singer was secretly involved with Nengi.

Reacting via his Instagram story, Spyro dismissed the claims, taking a swipe at Nigerians for what he described as ignorant assumptions.

“Nigerians, very ignorant set. Exactly why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer… But then again, what do I even know? Congratulations again, my Nengs,” he wrote.

The speculation over Nengi’s child’s paternity isn’t new. Weeks ago, rumors suggested that Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri was responsible for her pregnancy, a claim he vehemently denied, calling it a smear campaign orchestrated by his political enemies.

As social media continues to buzz with debates, neither Nengi nor her close associates have officially confirmed the identity of the child’s father.
