A shocking tragedy has rocked Jigawa State after a newlywed bride, 22-year-old Zainab Ibrahim, was found murdered in her matrimonial home just five weeks after her wedding.

The gruesome killing occurred on March 12, 2025, in Warware Quarters, Hadejia Local Government Area. According to the Jigawa State Police Command spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, officers received a distress call at approximately 2:20 p.m. reporting that Zainab was discovered unconscious in a pool of blood.

Upon arrival, police observed a deep cut on her throat. She was immediately rushed to General Hospital Hadejia, where the on-duty medical doctor confirmed her death.
