Speaking through his Director of Political Affairs, Chief Lambert Iwueke, yesterday, Chief Agbaso reiterated his stand to contest the Governorship primary come rain, come sunshine, saying that his principal, Agbaso, is still very much in the race, Iwueke posited that this is the most appropriate time for Ochudo Martin Agbaso to govern Imo State, having persevered over the years.
According to Chief Lambert Iwueke, such frivolous publication was sponsored by political detractors who are afraid of the rising profiles and eventual emergence of Chief Martin Agbaso as Governor of Imo State.
He further said, “Ochudo Martin Agbaso is too big to step down for anybody, instead those who sponsored such publication should rather step down for him since he is the most qualified and experienced in the race and have the capacity to win the election for APGA”. It will be recalled that a certain local tabloid, had published that sources close to the Martin Agbaso Campaign organization have revealed that Chief Martin Agbaso was considering a withdrawal from the governorship race under the APGA platform to pave the way for his brother and co-aspirant who is believed to be better governorship material, Capt. Emma Ihenacho.
Furthermore, the now discredited publication had claimed that “certain elders of Emekuku are pleading with Agbaso to step down for Ihenacho”.
Chief Iwueke then condemned the rumour mongers to find another job to do if they have gun out of ideas of how to market their choice and preferred aspirant.
