All is set for the kicking of the 17th Annual Youth Convention of Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Diocese of Owerri.
The event which will be starting on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Cathedral of Unity, off MCC Road Owerri, Imo State will be rounded off on Monday, August 18, 2014.

A release by the secretary of the Central Working Committee [CWC], Bro. Kingsley Egbuchulam has it that the convention will be an avenue for youths of Methodist Church Nigeria in the Diocese of Owerri to come together and seek the face of the Lord.
The statement further reads that the convention which has its theme as ‘Unto a Perfect Man’ will be a molding ground for the lives of the youths which will surely be transformed.
“The programme has been package in a way that no one will ever leave empty handed. We have arranged for spirit filled speakers as well as soul lifting programmeS for every delegate and it will be a turning point for us because God will surely arrest many people at the convention”
 Bro. Egbuchulam urged youths of the diocese to take advantage of the programme to rediscover what has been missing in their lives calling on the youths to attend en masse with their friends.
Kingsley who is also the Diocesan Youth Fellowship Secretary, praised the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dennis Okechukwu Mark for his support towards the development of youth work in the diocese, saying that the young bishop is one of his kind in the entire Methodist Church Nigeria.
He also eulogized the fatherly role which Very Rev. Alex O. Onyenula, the host and Cathedral Circuit Presbyter has been playing in the circuit as well as that of the youth work coordinator, Rev Ndubuisi Gbaruko whom according to Bro. Egbuchulam, has been outstanding since took up the position.
Ministers expected at the convention include Very Rev.  A. O. Onyenula, Rev. Sule Ayegba, 
Rev Chibuzor Ejagba,  Evang. Shalom Onwuka, Rev. Eme Ejibe, Pst. Yahaya Dingamaji, Pst. Chidi Courage and others.
The 17th Annual Diocesan Youth Convention will start with a welcome service to be officiated by Very Rev. Alex O. Onyenula on Thursday, August 14, 2014 while the diocesan bishop, Rt. Rev. Dennis Okechukwu Mark will be declaring the convention open officially in a Eucharistic Service on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the church hall of Cathedral of Unity, off MCC Road Owerri, Imo State.
