Lawyers in Imo state have called on the Inspector-General of Police to provide orderlies for all the judges and magistrates in the state.

They made the appeal on Friday during a peaceful demonstration over the gruesome murder of a senior magistrate, Remmy .C. Ogu.

Senior Magistrate was murdered on Thursday 22nd day of November, 2018.

The lawyers lamented high level of insecurity rocking their profession especially in discharging of their duties.

In a communiqué signed by Chuzzy Attama Esq and others, the legal luminaries among other things demanded thus:

“The police and other relevant security agencies should carry out a thorough and unfettered investigation into the murder of Senior Magistrate Remmy .C. Ogu Jnr. And unmask the killers and bring them to justice.
“Provide armed police orderlies for all the judges and magistrates in Imo state.

“Provide armed daily police for all the courts in Imo state as High Court, the Magistrate Court and Customary Courts, provide official cars for all the magistrates and Chairman of Customary Courts” the communiqué stated.
