On Wednesday 30th November 2012, the students of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri, residing in the school hostels, disrupted business and academic activities in the campus by embarking on a peaceful demonstration.

The reason for the demonstration was to express their dissatisfaction on the manner which the Student Union Government was representing them, because light and water which are the basic things the students need were not provided adequately.
