The Overcomers Christian Mission Worldwide at the weekend inaugurated the wife of the founder of the church, Bishop Francesca Ihuoma Ezeugo, as its new General Overseer after the death of its founder and husband, Bishop Alexander Ekewuba Ezeugo.
The event which took place at the Church headquarters, Aladinma Owerri attracted large crowd.
The inauguration service was conducted by an international gospel preacher Rev Dr Uma Ukpai.
In his sermon, Ukpai admonished Christians to always obey God’s commandment to avoid been rejected by God as was the case of Saul.
He cautioned church leaders and members to desist from slander, lies, destructive criticismwhich always attracts punishment from God.
Speaking during the inauguration, the new General Overseer, disclosed that she is elated to be conferred with such mantle of leadership and promise to discharge her duties with the fear of God.
She maintained that her consecration by Rev Uma Ukpai is a proof of God’s anointing in her life, which she said will be used to serve God and humanity.
Reacting to the feeling of women been in such leadership position, she stated that, her dependence is on God who will give her sufficient Grace to paddle the boat of leadership. The new leader therefore called on the church to love and solely depend on God as the source of strength assuring with God’s anointing upon her life, she will do exploits for God in the Ministry.

The head of the church Prayer Force, Rev Nnamdi Akujor expressed delight over the inauguration saying that divine selection is greater than human selection as the mantle has shifted from the old to the new.
He maintained that God uses any one He pleases and prayed God to bring expansion and more blessings upon the church under the leadership of the New GO.
The son of the late Arch Bishop and a Minister in the church, Bishop Emeka Ezeugo disclosed that the mother is the right person to take up the mantle of leadership having been part of the church right from its inception.
He disclosed God’s anointing and call does not discriminate against any gender just like the case of Deborah.
He maintained that women in the secular world occupies leadership position so also women Ministers in the religious circles should be given the chance to lead if they are called by God. He expressed satisfaction over the stride taken by the church and prayed God to strengthen the successor to move the church to a greater height. Emekaalso promised to give full support to the leadership of the church with God’s directives.
A guber candidate of Change Advocacy Party, CAP, Rev. Barr Emmanual Ikenna expressed delight saying that is a great thing for the mantle of leadership to fall upon the presiding Bishop of the church adding that God uses those that are available not minding the gender or who is involved.
The occasion was attended by great men of God from the church and other denominations within the state and across the country, politicians, friends and well-wishers who showed great enthusiasm at the occasion.
