The dignity, respect and honour of the traditional institution in Imo State will be restored under a Tony Nwulu led United Progressive Party, UPP administration in Imo State.
He made the declaration at Ngor Okpala Local Government area as part of his ongoing campaigns across the State.
Speaking at the palace of His Royal Highness, Eze Okoh 1 of Upe community in Ngor Okpala, Nwulu fingered lack of respect as one of the major problems plaguing the traditional institution in the State. He also highlighted the importance and relevance of the traditional institution.
“I m different. I m not given to promises typical of most politicians seeking for elective office. Traditional Rulers are arbiters of our society. A bridge between us and the gods . We need all their goodwill to succeed and be better” he disclosed.
Eze Upe alongside other traditional rulers from Ngor Okpala Local Government showered praises on the UPP governorship candidate and endorsed him for his ambition to become the next governor of Imo State.
The campaign train of the UPP governorship candidate also made a brief stop at Ngor Okpala Specialist Hospital to pay off the medical bills of indigent persons plagued by inability pay hospital bills.
It would be recalled that Hon Nwulu has paid off the bills of indigent persons at several hospitals across the State. Recently, he flagged off a free transport schemen aimed at ameliorating the transport fares of Owerri residents.
The UPP governorship candidate has been on the campaign trail in recent times visiting some local governments and has engaged in mutual discussions with key and strategic groups and associations across the State.
