As the Social Media Searchlight Concept, owners of Imo Social Media Awards releases the final nominee list for the 2015 edition of the awards, names like Hon. Chinedu Offor, Rev. Dr. O. Emmanuel, ISOPADEC Managing Director, Prince Henry Okafor, Chinedu Hardy Nwadike amongst others have made the list.
According to the Project Director, Tonygreg Ukaegbu [MC Bannana Mouth], the list is the final list of awardees and there would not be any addition to it again.
He said that the nominees have been chosen after a rigorous screening exercise which insured that anyone receiving the award, deserves it.
“It is a merit award, so people must use the social media to the level our panel of judges will be satisfied. We are trying to promote positive and creative use of the social media and everyone we have selected has something unique about them” He said.
Hon. Chinedu Offor who is presently the member representing Onuimo Local Government Area and Deputy Majority Leader in Imo State House of Assembly was also a commissioner in the first tenure of Gov. Owelle Rochas Okorocha got the nomination for his many activities in social media.
His outstanding performance as a commissioners also earned him victory in the last State Assembly Election under All Progressives Congress [APC].
Hon Offor was nominated alongside the General Overseer of Breakthrough and Solution Centre Church, Rev. Dr. O. Emmanuel who is known for his famous TV programme, ‘Breaking of Causes’ [Ibibi abum onu].
Another person on the list is writer, blogger and social media entrepreneur, Chinedu Hardy Nwadike who presently owns www.otowngist.com and www.sellimostate.com, two online platforms which have promoted local contents from Imo State. Hardy was spotted for his use of social media in marketing and branding of products and individuals especial entertainers.
SA on Social Media to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Hon. Ik Ogbonna was also on the list alongside Prince Henry Okafor, ISOPADEC, Managing Director who has also put the social media to great use in the promotion of his activities and that of the state government.
Others on the list are Comr. Ossy Dimaku, Aku Obidinma, Kemdi Iwueke, Emeka Macdonald, Ikemba Martin Opara, Onwukaike Paschal, Chinagorom Christopher and Anyanwu C Anyanwu.
Ann Ijeoma Nwafor, Kelvin Nwaka, Moses Anozie, Ohalete Wisdom Mayor, Gift Okedinma, Hon. Emma Duru, Ugonna Achuko, Hon. Emmanuel Orie, Chibuike Ozuzu, Comrade Mishak Chinagoro, Isa Okechukwu Oguerum and Kelechi Mejuobi also made the list of those that will be receiving the second edition of the merit award.
Also in the 32-man nominee list is prominent social analyst Alanso Onwuzurigbo whose achievements can never be overlooked alongside Ahumaraeze Obum Chibuike, Daniel Chibuike,
Hon. Chinedu Ekwebelem, Orient TV presenter Abso Baba while Markens Clothings and Jega World are the two companies shortlisted for the award.
The award ceremony will be taking place on Sunday July 12, 2015 at Ibari Ogwa Entertainment World, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, Imo State by 2:00pm.
