A group of shared prosperity enthusiasts is set to empower more than 3,000 persons in Imo State with the first batch billed for Ngor Okpala on September 12, 2020.

According to the chief convener of the group, Evangelist Mike Okoku, HOPISM is an ideology driven by Imo sons and daughters who are poised to reach out to the masses on the shared prosperity mission of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.

He said that members of the group are self-sponsored volunteers with the goal of achieving a great deal of infrastructural and human capital development in Imo State.

“It seeks to provide opportunity for the harnessing of talents and passion of young people especially providing access to government opportunities, alleviating poverty and ultimately creating wealth”

“HOPISM is where ‘governance’ meets the people’. It is a platform that avails volunteers and sponsors the chance to reach out directly to the volunteers to help ensure all empowerment programmes and government benefits get to those it is meant for and speedily too under very close watch.”, Evang. Ikoku said, while addressing newsmen during a press conference on Sunday, September  6, 2020 at Havana Hall, All Seasons Hotel, Owerri, Imo State.

How To Be Part Of It

Evang. Ikoku said that individuals willing to be part of the HOPISM Movement can register via the group’s official website, www.hopism.org, adding that the person must also be a firm believer of the Shared Prosperity Government of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.

He stated that for one to be confirmed as a full member, the person must also follow the group on the trio of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, saying that this is important to ensure members do not miss out on any information.

Speaking further on the mode of registration, Evang. Mike Ikoku said that alongside the online registration, there will also be physical registrations which will be done in Ward and Community offices of the group, adding that at the moment, they are kicking things off with online registration.

Speaking on their first batch of empowerment programme, billed for September 12, 2020 at Ngor Okpala LGA, Evang. Ikoku revealed that they have lined up items that will be making a direct impact in the lives of the beneficiaries. He said that the items were carefully selected based on the needs of the members from the Local Government area.

He revealed that the items will be won in a well organized raffle draw where winners can only receive items of empowerment they filled in their registration form.

Evang. Ikoku also stated that the phase two of the empowerment programme will be for those who have sustained what they have been given, adding that there will be a monitoring group that will ensure those items are put to good use.

Why Only Members Benefit

On why only members of the group can receive the empowerment materials, Evang. Ikoku said that it is important to enable them to monitor such persons.

With the second batch to take place in six months’ time, he said that it important for the beneficiaries to show commitment in the usage of what they have received, and only those who are able to sustain the job created with what they have been given, can be eligible for the second batch which will be financial empowerment.

Evang. Ikoku revealed that the train of HOPISM Movement will move to another Local Government in Imo State in either Orlu or Okigwe Zones of the state, calling on Imolites to go ahead and register on www.hopism.org.
