Plans are in top gear for the commencement of the Okey Ezeh Intra Secondary School debate competition in Imo State. According to a press release from the Okechukwu Theodore Ezeh Foundation and the debate competition committee, the debate will involve all non-government owned secondary schools in the state pending when the Imo State government gives approval for the students in public Secondary Schools to participate.
The press release also explained that top-notch prices which will be announced in due course will be won by participating schools, teachers and students.
The debate according to the release, will help in improving the oratory and logical skills of the students, improve their English speaking and literary cognitive skills, build confidence and achievement quotients, enhance better academic performance, promote interaction between schools and students, create relevant social networks and foster competiveness among students, schools and teachers, and encourage a deeper understanding of current issues by our children.
The release described the event as part of the determination of (OTEF) – the Okechukwu Theodore Ezeh Foundation – to raise the bar in the developmental issues of young people in Imo State and improve general educational standards.
