The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha clamping down buses illegally parked in Owerri, the state capital. The governor who drove himself in his beautiful Vox posh vehicle, together with his deputy chief of staff, Kingsley Uju, the APC chairman in the state, Dr Hilary Eke and his entourage, at about 5:45 pm, Tuesday, took the bus loaders at Okigwe road, Opposite Federal Prisons Owerri by surprise. He offloaded the passengers and instructed that the vehicles be driven to the government house.

The governor said “I am not after you Ndi-Ocho Passenger, you are my people , any bus I catch illegally operating will be taken to the government house”.

The APC state chairman, Dr Eke and the Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Uju rushed to manhandle the errant driver but the governor ordered them to stand down.

A mild drama played out when a driver refused to hand over his bus key to one of the aides attached to the Governor, identifying himself as a police man. That angered the governor who threatened to discipline him, but the man broke into tears and went on his knees which made the governor to pardon him.

 The Governor’s Aide-de-Camp, ADC, Eberendu CC insisted on disciplining him. The plea from the people around did not make the ADC to change his mind, as he was arrested and his bus impounded.
