Imo State Government has pledged to support the federal fire service in the state to aid it in effective service delivery.
The Secretary to the Government of imo state, Chief Cosmas Iwu made the pledge when the Assistant controller of the service in the state,Mrs Ijeoma Okidi Achi led other officers to pay him a courtesy visit.
Chief Iwu disclosed that in line with Governor Hope Uzodinma’s accommodating policies,all federal government agencies in imo state will enjoy the support of the administration.
The SGI noted that apart from a cordial working relationship with federal agencies, the imo state government has offered them logistics support since they were also serving imo people.
Chief Iwu said it was salutary that the federal fire service has been proactive and alive in the discharge of its services in the state.
He said the issues of land other requests made by the service would be forwarded to the governor for his attention.
He however commended the state controller for her initiatives in upgrading facilities in the state office including the clearance of outstanding utility bills.
While congratulating her on her recent promotion, Chief Cosmas Iwu assured the controller of the readiness of his office to assist her in the discharge of her duties.
Earlier,Mrs Achi expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodinma for running an inclusive government in the state.
She said the service was impressed with the developmental strides executed by the governor for the residents of the state.
She requested the state government to approve a parcel of land for the service to enable it build a permanent site in the state.
She also appealed for the rehabilitation of the borehole in their office to ensure prompt and effective execution of their services.
