The proposed kick off of Imo Based Artistes Football Competition has deferred by one week to enable participating teams put their houses together.
The competition which was designed to forester unity amongst entertainers in Imo State was supposed to kick off with a clash between comedians and bloggers on Thursday November 3, 2016, but was differed after a meeting by participating guilds with the new kickoff date being Thursday, November 10, 2016.
Speaking during the meeting which took place at the Nze Dan Orji Bongo Center Owerri, Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno, the SA to Governor Okorocha on Entertainment and Public Affairs enjoined various guilds to prepare for the tournament, adding that it will help them in keeping fit and will not also affect their various businesses.
Hon. Iruno further stated that the essence of the competition is to further bring entertainers in the state out and together to ensure that the actualization of the common goal of building the industry will be an easy thing.
Meanwhile, as Bloggers and Comedians go on to brag about who will emerge victorious on the opening day of the tournament, all participants have also been urged never to see the tournament as a do or die affair, but a thing between brothers and friends. “It is more like a novelty match”, Hon Iruno concluded.
