Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, on Wednesday before members of the three arms of government signed the 2022 appropriation bill into law.

While signing the budget tagged “the Budget of Economic Resilience” Governor Masari said the budget will be the last in the life of his administration.

As a result, the governor warned that discipline must be exercised in terms of implementing what is in the budget as it is meant for completing all pending project under his administration.

He said “we must have discipline in terms of implementing this budget because this budget is directed towards completing all the jobs that we have started. Very few new jobs were added to this budget.”

The speaker of the state assembly, Tasiu Maigari, before presenting the bill to the Governor for assent disclosed that after due scrutiny through its relevant committees as required under its rules, the total estimated budget of N340.9 billion as previously presented was decreased to N323,296, 220, 921.

”This means that the new estimated capital is now N223,184,602 representing 68% of the total budget. Similarly, the recurrent expenditure estimate now stand at N100,111,560,359 representing 32% of the total budget.

The state’s speaker commended the government for its efforts in ensuring that “dividends of democracy are evenly distributed and also ensuring that peace and security are restored.”
