Great men of God from far and wide are being expected to converge into Imo State with effect from Monday, October 14 to attend the annual convention of the Praise Centre Church International led by Bishop Stafford Nwaogu, the presiding Bishop.
Briefing newsmen at his Owerri office, Bishop Nwaogu revealed Wednesday that the one week event will feature great men of God such as Bishop Winnie Willie Bunting, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Bishop Pwiri Wilson from Zambia, Rev. Emeka Ngubo from Lagos State, Nigeria and very many other distinguished clerics including gospel artistes.
The church’s annual convention has as its theme for 2013; “Call to Reap” and its activities will begin this Monday through Sunday, October 20 and will get to its peak on Friday October 18th with the programme tagged “Praise and Power Night” while Sunday, October 20 will be the grand finale and will hold at the church’s permanent site at the cathedral at New Owerri estate, off Port Harcourt Road.
The Chairman of the event’s committee, Elder Prof. Jones Lemchi revealed that there will be preconvention rally by the church members with effect from Monday, otherwise called carnival float.
The Presiding Bishop, Nwaogu further disclosed that there will be plenary sessions where talks and lectures will be given, saying that a former Senator for Okigwe Zone, Sen. Eze Darlington Ajoku will give a lecture on “graceful aging”.
The significance of the annual international event Bishop Nwaogu explained cannot be over emphasized as it is a time of harvest of many spiritual blessings and knowledge exposition about the word of God which is light and life.
Speaking on politics and future of Nigeria, the renowned cleric who doubles as the state Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN made it clear that so much blood of the innocent children and grown ups spilt during the Nigeria Civil War will not allow the country to break. The blood was enough sacrifice, he prophesied.
The convention, he explained will also host the first citizen of Imo State, Gov Anayo Rochas Okorocha on the last day.
