The people of Umuoyima autonomous community in Owerri Municipal Council, Imo State, on Saturday, adopted Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as indigene of the community.
Nwosu is the current Chief of Staff of Imo State Government House and top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Nwosu who was visibly joyful, expressed his happiness at the gesture. He described Umuoyima Community as the most peaceful Community in Owerri.
He was full of praises for the initiator of the ceremony who doubled as the Chairman of the Occasion,Nzeh Patrick Chidiebere , describing him as a young man with a big heart.
The chief of Staff noted that Nzeh Patrick who is a product of Rochas foundation College is a die hard Rescue Missionary.
He promised to provide a befiting car for the traditional ruler of the Community and his Ugoeze respectively, while promising to immediately complete the Community’s town hall (Obiri).
He also promised to carry the youths in the community along in the scheme of things now that he has obtained citizenship of the Community.
Nwosu used the opportunity to enumerate numerous transformational strides of the rescue mission Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, especially the recent attraction of presidents of Countries to the state, maintaining that the situation had a significant positive impactin the economy of the state adding that it has enhanced the international reputation of the state .
In his speech, the traditional ruler of the Community, His Royal Highness Eze Henry Theophilus Ifeanyi Uba promised their unalloyed support to Nwosu in any of his future political aspiration adding thatthey are solidly behind him.
In their separate speeches, the member representing Owerri Municipal in Imo state House of Assembly, Hon. Lugrd Osuji ,Chief Pascal Ugwuanya, enumerated numerous achievements of the rescue Mission in the areas of Free Education, Massive employment and recruitment of youth into the civil service ward by ward in the 27 LGA of the state, opening of layouts in the state, the urban renewal program among others.
They noted that the enviable achievements could not have been possible without the contribution of Nwosu who they said brought his ingenuity and charisma to bear in the present administration.
The event which was the homecoming and formal reception of Nwosu as a Oyima indigene, attracted numerous groups who render varied solidarity and appreciative songs in support of Nwosu.
The Groups include; Young Mothers group, Nde Ndom Umuoyima, Umu Mgboto Oyima, Ugwumba Movement, Ugwumba Vanguard, Believe International Movement among others.
It also attracted the who is who in the Rescue Mission Family including Prof .Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Hon. Lasbery Okaforanyanwu, Prince Chidi Nwaturuocha, Hon. Lady Barr. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro, Barr. Paschal Onwukaike, Hon. Henry Ezediaro, Chief MacAnthony Amaefula, Dr Uzoma Anwuka, Hon. Obinna Okwara.
Others include Hon. Robertson Ekwebelem, Hon. Engr. Chidi Ibe, Chief Basil Ogwunga, and Hon. Jeff Nwoha.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of the citizenshipcertificate to Ugwumba Uche Nwosu by the traditional ruler and the inauguration of Umuoyima Youth Executives.
