Manchester United boss, Ralf Rangnick has told Marcus Rashford to take steps to come out of his slump.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo missing Man United’s Premier League fixture against Leicester City through illness and Edinson Cavani due to injury, Rashford was only named on the Red Devils’ bench as Bruno Fernandes played a false nine.
Rashford was introduced late in the second half of their 1-1 draw against Leicester on Saturday, but the impact was little as his struggles continued.
The England forward has scored just five goals in 27 appearances for Man United this season.
“Marcus, it is no secret that he is not having his best time right now,” Rangnick said at his post-match press-conference.
“It has to do with rhythm and confidence, it’s our job to help him to get this confidence back.
“The only thing we can do is speak to him regularly and tell him what we expect from him and what he should do. The rest has to be done by himself.
“It’s possible to develop within a couple of weeks a level of confidence where you can be a different player again.
“We all know that Marcus can play better, but in the end he has to take the steps himself.”
